Giant Sea Bass Spotting Days!
There are Giants in our waters, and we’re looking for them! These huge and interesting animals were hunted nearly to extinction, but they are making a “Giant” comeback.

How we can help
By bringing people to see these animals we can learn more about this species and provide people with a chance to share space with a MASSIVE animal.
Our goal is to document these amazing creatures and send those images, as well as specific site information, in to Spotting Giant Sea Bass. A great project that incorporates the dive community with the science community.

Young of the Year Spotting!
The Giant Sea Bass is well…Giant. But when they are born they are only millimeters long. After about a month they grow to a few inches and settle along the sea floor.
Our local be in Redondo is a hotspot!
Join me in my first year of figuring this out, all to further understand this amazing and endangered animal.

Santa Cruz Giant Sea Bass Trip Report
Next year we will try again! Join us in July for exploritory SCUBA dives, beautiful hikes, and hopefully a huge scientific discovery.
Santa Cruz was beautiful welcoming and challenging. The entry and exit was friendly but visibility was very limited!
While we did not find the Giants this year we shared smiles and many other adventures, even some on land!
Perfect entry!
